Ebony Plus?

If you only have one knife with Ebony covers, what do you pair it with if you normally carry more than one knife?

I have more than one Ebony knife and usually only tote one knife at a time, so can't really contribute anything.

Ebony seems to go with everything. It’s one of my favorite cover options. Mother of pearl comes to mind as a fun match.

Closest I have to MOP is MOT or a RR Stoneworkx. My pretty RR abalone Barlow is misplaced somewhere in a moving box, in Maine.

Guess i'll go with a reddish Amber jigged bone and a black Rosewood with the Ebony tomorrow.

It goes with anything, but particularly well with White Bone or Ivory Bone, Yellow Delrin and Alox SAK

But on its own it can shine.

I substituted primitive bone for the ivory, looks just as good!

But really, all my ebony knives are self-sufficient, it's a well known characteristic of ebony.

I think the only ebony-handled knives I own are both older Buck 112s. A couple pics below of one of them, a 4-dot model, after I'd cleaned up some dings on the bolster, sanded and re-polished everything. It was especially camera-worthy after that and begged for some pics to be taken. I also have a 2-dot 112 in ebony (3rd pic below). I've usually carried either of them as a secondary to my universally favorite EDC, my Case '75 stockman in amber bone and CV (4th pic below). As mentioned previously in this thread, it seems ebony goes with anything. It's always a nice complement to whatever else one might carry beside it.

I'd be lying if I said that I think about color when pairing up knives. For me personally, anything goes.

These two knives have accompanied me daily for the last couple of months. Ebony and Black and White Paper Micarta.

But, from that Golden "Flash in the Pan" that was Wright's, spurred by our Jack Black , Ebony does carry the day all by itself!!
