Hi could someone please explain the Ebony change, i,e is it solid wood or still a laminate and is there a reason for the change ?

Many thanks

Dunc

solid wood. due to partnership with Taylor guitars who owns a sustainable ebony farm. just bringing it back.....

Many thanks for your quick reply. Looks like a new 110 is on the cards when I can afford it. Not cheap over here in the U.K lol

110s had Ebony scales in the past. This example is from around 1974. I think a cockroach problem in inbound shipments caused Buck to discontinue.

While there were cockroaches in the shipments (the 1st thing we used to do when the crates of strips arrived was tent and fumigate them.), We discontinued the use of it when importing of Ebony was stopped.

yes Sir.

true. from what I hear.

I have a good pal in Birmingham, UK. Ive sent him a fixed blade buck for xmas. I've tried to send him a 110 but he doesnt want to deal with import rules on locking folders. not saying hes right and I'm no UK expert on importing......but I respect his requests.

Picked up a new ebony 110 last nite,along with a 110 LT.
Absolutely gorgeous ebony wood, and rock solid lock up.
Love the 110 LT as well.
I think k Buck hit a grand slam with the LT.
