Well, I managed to get through the door at 12:01 so the table were "full." Not many knives availble from some of the makers, but dealers of course had alot and I managed to pick up two Sawbys and an engraved mini-Osborne daggar, as well as a blued damascus, mammoth scaled framelock flipper from Aaron Frederick for $400. Overall, sales on Friday were VERY slow for makers and dealers alike, which was really a bit bizzare. When I get a chance, I'll post some pics. I realize I've been conspicuously absent from the forums for awhile, but I moved to a new practice in October and had an 1hr+ commute each way until mid-January when we moved into our new home.

Anyway on the buying end it was a GREAT show, lots of knives available for a change. Coop BTW if you read this I was the guy in the yellow Nautica jacket standing behind you.... ;)

Getting a couple of Sawbys is a great score. I think his work is as a good as it gets. I own about 5 right now with more on order. Looking forward to the pictures.

Hi Steve,

Nice chatting with you as we waited. :) Fortunately, they sprung open the doors to ALL at 12:00 noon and didn't have any restrictions on Guild Members only (That I saw).

You know this crowd will want to see photos, especially of the knife quality you are describing! Good for YOU!

I don't have any buying/selling reports, probably because I simply spent most of my time gladhanding everyone. Only complaint I heard was about the actual room facility itself, as not 'elegant'.

Missed my bid on buying a Michael Walker Liner-Lock® folder. Walter Hoffman scarfed up the winning card. Damn. Ron Lake had the same kind of lottery.

Dr. Darom and crew had a tableful of the new 'Custom Fixed Blades' book, and he was signing away. I was honored when HE wanted me to sign his book. Whatta guy!

Two more days to go. I can't make it back. But, I suspect many good stories.

Coop

I wanna see what you got!

Here is a group shot of the two Sawby and another Sawby-Mullen I recently acquired ;)

The Kious/Warenski on the left was my Christmas present from my wife this year. The min-Osborne dagger was acquired yesterday. Engraving by Dan Wilkerson (dec.)

Sorry...getting an upload error on multiple tries?!

Thanks for sharing. Well done. If you like Sawby, I HIGHLY recommend his Toothpick, with the larger blade. It is amazing.

Best Regards,

Wow....

I bought the book a couple weeks ago. I hope to receive it soon!

Hey Chefget, I just checked out your knife collection and I am extremely impressed. You have some really great looking steel.

So, you're the one! I thought I was the first guy through the doors, but by the time I negotiated that maze  and figured out front from back, everything on Sawby's table was sold. The little Sebenza with stag was my goal, but alas...

Did go home with a smile though. I bought (2) small half integral stiffhorns by Kressler (one stag and one blue mammoth); (2) from Dan Winkler; (2) from Ricardo Velarde (a stag full integral classic hunter and a stag half integral drop point); and (2) Loveless (a double nude stag drop with long bolster and hidden pins and another double nude stag short bladed camp knife). Had to dig deep, but am very happy with what I got.

A good show with a lot of great makers showing a lot of great knives, and willing to provide a lot of great conversation. It doesn't get much better.
