Olszewski folder. Not really my thing but still cool:

Persson knife from Knife Legends. Though not the point of the picture, I have to say I love that Don Hanson folder on the top left with the cracked ivory and always have to stare at it.

I like the Dunkerly dagger grind folder and the Smith folder you picked up very much...you have a good eye!

It just caught the attention that the Walker is very much, imo, an homage to the Appleton style, vis a vis, the blade grind, handle sculpting and treatment to the pivot area....very whimsical!

Thanks!! Wait until you see the other. I had Eric shoot it and am dying to post the pics I have already but I'll hang on until Eric sends me his photo. Its pretty outrageous.

On a side note, RJ Martin's knives might have been the sharpest I have felt, and the guys hand is covered in scars. They seem like they would preform very well. I dont have any pictures and wouldnt attempt to take one but I held one of Davids Goldburg's Japanese swords and it seemed pretty nice.

Sounds like you had a good time, Jon. Hope the weather hasn't hurt the show, lot of flights cancelled I see.

Thanks for the review.

I like the Hogstrom daggers and the 'plain Jane' Dunkerly.

Thanks for the preview.

Definitely a good time. That 'plain jane' folder (assuming you mean the orange handled one) was one of my favorites. It was simple and had a SERIOUS tight pattern. I was impressed with how even the pattern was and how much it shimmered. Seems like the flights were a problem. I didn't see Cliff Parker or Kevin Jones (assuming he was coming..?)

Thanks very much for the pics. I gotta get me one of those small Hogstrom daggers one day.

Jon,
Yeah, the orange handle one. Cliff canceled out a month ago, he didn't have time to recoup
after Reno. Said he was out of steel and needed to forge for a few weeks.

We had a bad ice storm here Thursday night-Friday morning so I cancelled my trip. Was looking forward to it.

I plowed snow early friday morning than a few friends and I ran into the show buy about noon. Lot's of very nice knives folders and tactical stuff. I enjoyed it but I wish there would of been more forged stuff. alot of very pretty art knives. It was a pleaure to see some makers I kniew and meet some I did not. A big plus was I meet Les Robertson and Bob Neal. Both great guy's and Les is really quite funny I think he would be fun to drink with. I got a copy of Les's book and it brought to light some things I have not considered and I enjoyed it. We left early I had some clean up plowing to do. The whole ride home I kept thinking of the one knife at the show that I would have wanted and Bob Neal had it on his table. I have been looking for a knife from this maker for a bit and was just waiting for one to really grab me that was for sale. Saturday I got up and took my dog for a walk in the woods behind my house and happened to call up Jose to see if he was going to the show He said he was on his way so I asked if he would make Bob an offer on this particular blade for me and he kindly said he would. Well Bob excepted and my friend Willy and I where on our way back to the city. Jose , Phil and Wally where there and We had drinks and looked around at some great knives. Some great Loveless's a Moran or two and one piece that I saw one like it on here and I can not remember the maker It looked like a piece of swarovski crystal and the maker only used simple hand tools file's etc. Maybe Jose or Phil can remember his name. It was great meeting those guy's and special thanks to Jose and Bob for the on phone negotiation. Thanks for showing me the Rose bowie wally and it was also great meeting Phil I truly enjoyed it. I showed them the Matt Lamey on me and they can tell you what they thought. Well the Knife I could not get off my mind and the one that went home with me is a Wolf's tooth patterned damascus Fisk with stag handle. Hey Paul L. here comes another one as soon as I can get a stud made. will post pics when I can take them (thanks Phil for the pointers). Here is a pic off Bob's web site for now

Pretty sure that you are referring to the great Wolfe Loerchner, J.

Nice score on the Fisk...enjoy!!

Thanks for your pics! I was tempted to take a personal day and drive up to the show but the snow made short work of those plans. Were there any other Walkers available? How about Ron Lake's table?

Do it every time.
Bring the camera and forget to use it.
I did take one of the room it gives a cue to how large the show is.
On the left are arches with exit signs above them, there are two more to the left that aren't in the frame.
That is one big, well lit room :D
