Just attended the East Coast Custom Knife Show in Jersey City, NJ.
Lots of great, beautiful knives, lots of great, nice makers.
However, I had a discussion with one long time knifemaker.that had a table. He had several handmade fixed blades and... many folders for sale on his table that I'm 99.9999% sure we're just factory made kits that he put together. Basically they were $25 kits he was putting together, marking his name on the blade, and selling for $300 and up. When I asked him if he made the folders from scratch, he sarcastically answered that he had elves from the North Pole making them in his shop. He then said that he did all the work...
Talk about a rip-off...
