Ecohawk sheath

I've had the ecohawk for about a year now and it has become my favorite edc. Especially now that I have a way of carrying it in my pocket. I threw this sheath together last weekend after seeing the video that Vector did. I made a few changes. I carry this in my pocket most of the time and I did not want anything on the sheath that could snag upon removal. I placed dowels on one side of the sheath and inset rare earth magnets on the other. The final product is bomb proof and does not move. This set up allows me to remove the bit side sheath and use this tool as a knife. The next step is to haft it. It is an extremely handy tool. If you don't have an ecohawk, I can't suggest strongly enough that you get one. It does not become apparent how versatile it is until you have played around with it.

I have an eco hawk and I'm not liking it all that much. To me it really doesn't do anything all that well. Other than ease of carry, a hafted hawk is more useable for me.

Does Vec have a youtube channel?

It's not the straight blade so much as the angle that it presents to the material being cut. It's all kinds of awkward for me.

Thanks for the ideas - and the video link - i got mine in the mail last week i had figured it would come in handy someday but the versatility is what got my interest - that and the fact that i can have all i need in that little package (i added a ESEE fire starter to it) if i am unexpectedly out in the woods - just snatch up a branch and whittle a little and have a haft - pretty cool little tool - and didn't cost much at all compared to a lot of stuff out there on the market

idk i can see it being like a good car in case of emergency tool or like something to keep in your tool kit, or prolly in a bug out bag, but it seems to big for edc and to small for real hawking. i mean ok its detachable so is a real hawk head?

No offense to anyone, but I'm not sure i understand the utility.

OK, with the head removed, it looks like it can be a fairly decent knife -- but don't you have a knife?

What about carrying it without a haft? That seems a bit strange to me. I mean, if I need a hawk in an emergency, I probably need a hawk, and not something I can turn into a hawk when I'm done carving a haft while freezing to death. So, for portability, why not just carry a hawk head, and a fitted haft stuffed in the corner of your pack, just slide and go?
