Ecos knives anyone?

They are inexpensive priced custom knives that usually appear with a nice hamon. All the ones I have seen or own are very sharp and are in the tactical Japanese style. The maker used to sell alot on Ebay but I don't know if he still does.

They are not perfect custom fixed blades but for the money they aren't bad at all.

Jason (Ecosknives) is in Cebu, Philippines now and will continue to make blades from there. That's why the absence from Ebay.

Got a great deal for a Ecos tanto. Will let you know when it arrives and I get a chance to test it out. I got a flawed knife so the price was sweet :)

I have owned quite a few Ecos knives. I can attest that almost every one of them falls in the category of the sharpest knives I have ever handled or owned, and those are many. Jason, who indeed is in Cebu, Pilippines now, is a nice person to deal with and I believe he has a good understanding of the principles of the various alloys. He is also willing to experiment with new designs something I know from personal experience as we have communicated many times in the past. I have been lucky enough to own one-off knives made by him and those are interesting pieces! IMO for the money his knives represent exceptional values. I think you are going to enjoy your new knife. BTW, welcome to the Bladeforums.

I had one, a cord wrapped handle with about a 3 inch blade. It was extremely sharp, but I sold it without ever using it because I didn't like how there wasn't anything to keep my finger from sliding onto that very sharp blade.

I had a kiridashi from him that I loved. It lived on my keys for a while and I would occasionally wear it as a necker. I haven't seen it in a while though, hope it's still around.

Good stuff at a good price.
