I spoke with Mr. Chavar on the phone today about purchasing one of his knives. I have been looking at his work recently, and I finally decided to give in to temptation and buy one of his knives.
Mr. Chavar is a pleasure to speak with and he took his time answering my questions. (I had many questions). He told me what he had in stock, describing his various models and materials. He even offered to send me a brochure with pics of his knives, so that I could take my time in deciding.
Well, I finally decided on a Monocacy. The Monocacy I chose has a 3" ATS-34 blade, OAL of appx 7". It has Bocote scales. I have seen some pics of this wood online and I think it will look great. He told me that if I did not like the knife for any reason, to let him know and send it back to him. Great service, to say the least.
To summarize - do not hesitate to order from Ed Chavar if you like his work.
