I fell in love with Ed Fowlers knives from the first knife magazine I saw in 1998. I met Ed the same year and got to handle a Pronghorn for the first time. I finally bought my Pronghorn directly from Ed at Blade Show 2001. So you could say it took me three years to get my Pronghorn. Ed sent me a CD with pics of some his knives, one was an experimental blade you can read more about here.

The other was a new knife that he made for himself, heres a pic of that knife along with the story that goes with it. You will notice that the knife as well as the story could only have come from Ed Fowler.
The other knife is the one that I have been waiting for 8 years now. I needed a new knife, and this one really appealed to me so I bought it for myself, I have been on my waiting list and it was my turn. She has a 3 inch blade and is 6 " overall. She is what I really like at this time, have been carrying it, cutting hay bales and general shop stuff for over a month now and still in love.
I went to the bank and wrote myself a check, marked it "for deposit only" into the same account it was written on. The teller was a new one and asked to see my drivers license, etc. I asked her how long it would take the check to clear and she seriously responded, "3 days". I said OK and watched as she started thinking, comparing account numbers and the like, then blushed!! She asked me what I was doing and I told her I had to pay for it like anyone else.
I would bet even money, maybe even give odds that the story went around the entire teller line.
Ed, thanks for sharing.
