Being in Korea I'm a bit late getting to news. But I just saw the Nov. Blade magazine, and in it there is an ad for a new DVD from Ed. I am very interested but found no info on the website.

Ed and All, any info about this?

Thanks a bunch,

John

I have not heard anything.
I already own the Bearing-to-Blade video...

Is the new DVD just that same video in a new format?

John the video is at the editors and should be finished soon. As of blade west that is all that I can tell you.

It mentions it in the most recent "Knife Talk" article from Ed, apparently it isn't finished yet.

We got delayed some thanks to slow mail and other work that interfeared.
We fully intended to have it available by now and I appologise for the delay.
Rex I just reviewed it for the second time tonight, we have a few additions to include and our new target date is around the first of November.

Jeremy Rivera has edited over 9 hours of tape down to about two and a half hours, he did a great job!

I sincerely appreciate your interest and thank you for your patience.

Ed (and Bill),

Thanks for the update. And thanks for all the good work you are doing. For me, the most important thing is not that we all agree 100% of the time (this would stifle all discussion anyway), but that we continue to communicate and learn. I do not follow the "Willow Bow formula" 100% of the time, but that does not mean that I have not learned tons from all of your generous posts, columns, videos, etc. Thank you for the help, and I will be (one of) the first to purchase the new DVD.

John:
I just heard from Jeremy, the video will be out in about two weeks, all the art work done for the package etc. all the editiing done, down to the facts, no down time and it is now a little over two hours long.
Over 30 years of experiments, hundreds of test blades and it is looking good.

How I am doing? Have no idea, have put my brochure in over 7,000 hands, talked to folks like there is no tomorrow. Getting many phone calls, most very supportive. Just through the campaign the opposition has implemented some things I wanted to see happen. That is a lot of what I wanted to acomplish.

Have some big meetings coming up, If the issues make any differnece I will be in good shape. Many really like what I have to say. Strangely many in the knife community have sent in campaign contributions. I really appreciate that, it is very satisfying to know I have support from my family.

Thanks Friends

Thanks again Ed.

Please start a new post as soon as it's available. I'll put in an order immediately.

Best,

John

Ed, tell me how much for the DVD, shipping, etc and I'll send it your way. I don't mind the wait!

Our plan at this time is to have the DVD available at Joe Szilaski's table at the Nov. New York Show. The target date for sales is Nov. 12. Price is set at $25.00 including shippping.
I sincerely hope you like what we have developed, it took a lot of time, knives tested to destruction and lab work, but I feel it was all worth it, hope you gentlemen like it.
Thanks Friends

Hey Ed,
My uncle is a four-term magistrate on the county fiscal court in Kentucky (that's old fashioned Commonwealth-speak for county commisioner:D) He is a lifelong Dem, (unlike me and the rest of the Florida wing of the family save one eccentric aunt,,:D ) but, as is common in the South and West, pretty conservative. He also has a big problem with his fellow Dem magistrates signing off on ANYTHING their developer buddies bring them. He finally got someone in his own party mad enough over that they ran someone against him in the primary. The local Republican party didn't run anyone against him for the second straight election because the suburbanites who make up the bulk of their membership like what my uncle has done with the development stuff and a bunch of historic rsetoration projects. My uncle spent about as much time realtively speaking going do to door as you have....so much so that he got blood clots in his leg!!! His opponent chose not to do that. Net result.....my uncle won by a 3 to 1 magin and does not have to stand for election Tuesday. Pressing the flesh works especially in local elections. Good luck!!!!

P.S. I want one of the DVD thingies too!!!!!!:D

Ed, That is a HUGE bargain for all of the work that I know went into this project. I want to say thank you and that I'll be ordering it as soon as it's available.

Though I don't know anything about them, there's got to be multi-regional DVD players if it doesn't come out in PAL.

FWIW.... I got a DVD from Japan on blades and bladesmithing that wouldn't play in my Sony DVD player recorder hooked up to the TV.... Then I got an idea and stuck it in my HP computer DVD-ROM drive and it played fine.... ;) Try it... it might work for you if you ever get one in the wrong format..... :)
