Ed Halligan KISS knife

I really like the looks of this knife and was considering buying one of the custom ones from Ed Halligan. The lowest price I've seen is $275, how in the world does he think that knife is worth that much?
Has anyone compared the custom version to the CRKT version?

I got one from Ed himself. My is a large version, serrated, ATS34, and it is the best money clip there is. It can cut alright, just don't do any thing funny with it.
 
Hopefully, for that kind of money, the lock holds up better than the CRKT version(which is VERY poor). I don't see how it can though just by the design of the knife.

Good idea, but not feasible in the real world for anything other than very light duty.
