Proud to start a thread dedicated to my friend, fellow Okie, and retired USAF brother-in-arms Ed Kramp Ed Kramp

Since there is a previous thread started by his son David Kramp David Kramp announcing Ed's return to the slipjoint maker arena, won't rehash what has been posted. Some nice pics posted if you haven't seen it yet here's the link https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/newbie-but-father-is-a-knife-maker.1694327/

Although Ed has had a 17 year or so hiatus from making knives, his love for making 100% handmade slipjoints is still evident. Ed uses D2 almost exclusively and knows how to extract superior performance from it. His signature dovetailed bolsters are evidence to the time and effort he takes to fit pieces together. Looking at my latest Ed Kramp knife you would swear there aren't pins, even under the intense scrutiny of my full frame DSLR / dedicated macro lens you can't see them. Invisible. Milled liners keep the mirror polished tangs mirrors. Half stops flush all three positions both blades. Blades centered, both blades. Zero gaps held up to the light. Every metal surface is a mirror. Wow sharp, really wow. Ok, let the pics do the talking. Love this blue giraffe bone, looks like blue crackle ivory.

Check the perfect fit of the dovetailed bolsters. Filework done by hand.

If you are in the market for a multiblade slipjoint custom, you won't get a better one for less money.

That looks magnificent, John, everything about it! Absolutely one of my favorites of yours. Perfect blade combo, especially the shorter, stouter straight edge, which beats the standard Wharncliffe secondary hands down, for my use.:thumbsup:

Chief, thank you for this stellar post. The pictures are awesome! It is a gorgeous knife. Well done on those scales you provided. They do Pop!! It’s been greatly satisfying to see my dad Ed Kramp Ed Kramp get back into the knife making business. I’ve been trying to promote his work the best I can but there’s just no way I can add this kind of promotional value. Once again thank you for the wonderful post and I know your friendship with my dad is truly valued and respected.
