Hi

I've seen those knives on several places, for example:

Some of them look quite nice, except for the sheaths.
Anyone knows anything about this knifemaker, is he real or is it a scam?


By the way, just got my P3GY from Swedens pride, Fällkniven.
Soo nice, but now i want the PXL, where will it end? :)

It says in the ad the knife was DESIGNED by Ed Mahoney, not MADE by him (assuming he really exists). They appear to be wholesaling them, so I would have to venture a guess they are having them made in Taiwanachinastan.
 
This Mahony person probably doesn't exist at all. Here are a couple of other bogus custom knife makers that are popping up on European E-Bay auctions:

Kuurri Pääjärvi
Ole Rybeck
Soeren Magnusson

I can't find any evidence that any of them really exists. It seems it's the same person running the scam on all of these.

For $13 you can use it in the kitchen if nothing else. They used 420HC so it is all going to depend on the heat treat. The blade looks machined from one peice much like throwing knives. Who knows, it might even be a Frost.
 
I KNOW I'm pissing into the wind .... but I couldn't resist sending a condemning message to a seller of that crap in Tradera. I hate to see countries (I admire Sweden mightily) getting infected as we are ....by crap.
 
There's a guy on ebay selling this crap. Watch out for the Pakistani damascus knives stamped with Western names. There are a lot of them floating around.
