I'm most impressed by the Bennica pieces (lot #49), the Wolfe Loerchner folder (#46), & the Warren Osborne dagger w/ Torcoli engraving (#20). I'm a little disappointed to see so few forged knives, but this is to be expected.

I'll be curious to see how the Fuegen Goblin performs, since I am lucky enough to own one. :p

I am not sure what to think of all those Emerson's. I'm not interested in this work generally, and I am not knowledgeable. It sure seems like an awful big number of pieces with very high estimates...

Joss, thanks for the heads up. Just out of curiousity I checked last years auction. IMHO I think that this year the auction lacks a bit in diversity at least in comparison to last year.

That doesn't mean that there aren't some impressive pieces (with equally impressive price tags) up for auction this year. The Bennica's are cool indeed (they are in DDD's book), just like the Torcoli work. And what about that Lindsay dagger?

I'm not into folders so I probably don't get it but there are indeed a lot of Emerson knives up for sale. Can someone shed his light on this please?

Marcel

If I recall correctly, last year's realized prices were in some instances disappointing to the promoters (I remember some discussions about the realized prices on the Moran's, in particular). So it is possible that potential sellers be a little bit more reluctant this year.
