I'm looking at adding a Fixed Blade to my EDC setup. I work in boston so I am restricted to a 2.5" blade.

I was wondering what people would recommend for such a requirement.

Thanks!

Look at the patch knives at Blind Horse Knives. They are all custom made, and the Frontier First patch has been a great EDC usinf their pancake pocket sheath. You might want to look at Michael Morris' work as well.

If you want to go custom, they don't cost as much as you think.
Check out the JK Handmade Knives forum in the makers area,John makes alot of pocket sized blades that are people friendly.

Two John made for me.

This one has a scale to tip of 2 3/4" with cutting edge of 2 3/8". (Connecticut Law goes by the sharpened edge for legal length)

And this only has a 1 1/2" blade..

Very nice knife! So many options. I'm leaning towards the Blind Horse Frontier First Patch Knife as the price is nice. I just ordered a RAT RC-4 so might not be allowed to buy another "expensive" knife.

Then check for CRKT neck knives. Krein Dogfish for instance.

Going from the right is a Arno Bernard.

Next in is a custom 2.5 inch Anza.

Then is another 2.5 inch forged custom by Collin Cox.

Got them all to meet Chicago's carry laws.

I would look in the custom fixed blades for sale sub-forum. Many talented folks selling knives over there. On the cheap too.

i'd say,

1. BM activator

2. Spyderco Swick

3. CRKT RSK MK5

those are my 3 faves

ive carried all three but sadly do not actually own any of them, each one spent about a month in pocket though so i know these knives pretty well

Cheers!
