Just looking for something new. I already own:
-Ontario Rat 1
-Buck 110
-Ontario Utilitac 2
-Kershaw Blur s30v
-Zero Tolerance 0350
-Spyderco Paramilitary 2

I would like something with a different steel, either 154cm, vg10, elmax, etc. Also, I like the piercing ability of a clip point but it looks too tactical imo. Any other blade shapes that are good piercers?

I'd like a one handed deployment, so no lock backs or slip joints. I'm not a fan of assisted knives.

For the handle material, I'm not picky as long as you can back it up. FRN is acceptable, but I'd prefer g10, micarta, carbon fiber etc.

Don't own a benchmade but if you suggest something, I'd like it to be something besides the grip.

If I missed anything feel free to ask questions. Thanks for your time

I think you would like a Benchmade 940. If you look around you can find an older one in 154cm or get a new one in S30v. Reverse tanto is very solid but has a good point. Good Luck. Kevin

By the way for a little more you can get the 940-1 with S90V and carbon fiber. 😄

I picked up a Zero Tolerance 0560 and a DPx HEST/F Mil-Spec both for under $150 in really good condition, off The Exchange.

You might want to browse around there and see if anything tickles your fancy!

Benchmade HK 14715 or 14716, depending on your size preference.

D2 is good stuff. Sharpens without fuss, holds a good edge in an acceptable fashion. Price is right in your wheelhouse.

Boker makes the Urban Trapper with Carbon Fiber. Titanium frame, bearing pivot, VG-10 steel. Price also in your neighborhood.

I believe you would enjoy one of these.

I'll second keeping an eye on the exchange here. You can find some really great deals.

Of your list you have, I'd definitely recommend the para 2. For the price it is an unrivaled edc option.

Could always try out a traditional if you want something different.

I'd highly recommend a 950 rift, the belly is amazing to work with and its not hard to sharpen, but holds an edge shaving sharp after a day of opening boxes.

The ZT 0770 might be one to consider if you de-assisted it. It has an elmax blade and aluminum handle. The BM 940 would also be a good choice but just above your price limit.

That may be my next one.

I agree, I bought a brand new 940 in S30V on ebay for $140.00 shipped. IMO it cannot be surpassed in its class for : Weight, Blade length, Comfort, Action. To me a very large value................TD
