As far as the 'addiction' aspect goes: I went down a path very simlilar to what you are describing here.
It only gets worse.
In my case, my purchases went from a broad range of styles to eventually searching for / ordering custom varients of specific knives because of something I had in mind.
There are SO many different brands and custom makers out there - each with their own styles and personalities to choose from that it is difficult to stop. Pride of ownership is important: The joy of looking over your collection and remembering when and where each piece came from. Thinking about what you were doing (or what you were thinking) when you ordered a specific blade - Or deciding which knife to wear to work / social engagement / formal / casual... (concealment method) - or into the wilderness?
Not to mention the rush of going to the post office because of the parcel pickup notification stuck to your door...
For me: Knives are the coolest thing to collect. Day to day (outside of this forum) you don't meet many "knife people". Even people you meet who may very well might be "knife people" keep their knife side hidden because they do not want to be looked at as a nutter by the sheeple.
The fact that you are on this forum is also indicative that you are not going to stop any time soon.
Thanks for sharing your collection.
