After our visit with Sandy, I now would not attempt to make a sheath without a pattern. Prior to that visit, I struggled trying to fold the leather around the blade and visualize where everything should be.

Needless to say, I have a lot of scrap leather because of those early trial-and-error methods.

Every now and then, I will try to second guess my pattern, thinking..........that is too danged big......and sure enough.........another one for the scrap pile.........

Patterns are the way to go.
