Just read “Your daily cutter” thread and I have read many other daily carry threads, and I rarely see anyone carrying a Bali-Song. Does anyone carry one for daily use? All of the production models I am aware of have blades larger than 4” with the exception of the BM model 31. I would like to use one for EDC, but if I flip open a 4 ½” blade in an office environment, I pretty sure I would get myself into a little trouble. I have not seen the model 31, is the quality up to BM standards, how does it feel in the hand and use compared to a full size Bali? Does anyone else make a Bali with a 3” to 3 ½” blade?

Some jurisdictions discriminate against balisongs the way they do against switchblades and gravity knives (anything that's fun is illegal! :)) This reduces use as EDC.

I've relearned the value of Balisongs as an all around utility knife and for its multiple uses as a self defense tool (kuboton, flail, restraining/pinching, slice, thrust).

I'm starting to carry a four inch bali as my EDC outside of work and have found it to be very practical. As with other larger size EDC's it's wise to open it slowly with two hands when around sheeple.

The BM 31 is an excellent high quality smaller bali.

Hey Richard you should head over to the bali forum and post the same question. You'll get quite a few more answers there. Of course they'll be a bit biased. :D

Anyway, the BM31 does make a great EDC, good size. It don't scare people so its a good introduction to balisongs.
