Anyone wear their knives in a specialized EDC belt? I was looking at a few of them and they seem like a good investment, but is it worth it just for a single fixed blade sheath?

I am NOT familiar with them. But here are my two preferred ways of carrying a short-bladed fixed.
I know that some folks like to carry them in horizontal carry, but that prints way too much for me.

I personally don't see the need. I wear a good belt but I also have a CPL (concealed pistol license) . I have never carried a fixed blade (its a no no here in MI) on a belt but a decent quality leather belt + buckle would be fine I would think. I stay away from the a thinner nylon BDU type belt. Some of those buckles don't work well imo. Before my I got my CPL, I was a batman (ie. knife + multi-tool + flashlight in sheaths on belt) and I found a good quality leather belt with buckle worked for me. YMMV.

Galco Instructors belt. I dont use belts with holes, using something like velcro or any of the other systems like that allows you to adjust the belt to the perfect size so its just right, no need to rely on preset holes. The galco instructors belt is wide and thick its very strong. Perfect for my holster and firearm and anything else you would want to carry on the belt. Can't recommend instructor belts enough, more then a few different makers have versions out.

I have been using a dual layer horse hide belt from thebeltman.net for 7 years.

I wear this same belt everyday. I wear it at work, I wear it when I go to church, when I am wearing shorts, and everywhere else.

Truly an outstanding product.

That does look pretty good, but a knife sheath footprint in my front right pocket is just too big for me to handle, since I keep my phone in the left pocket by itself and my cash/keys/change in the right pocket(s). I want to do horizontal appendix carry with a cross-draw into my right hand.

BTW, is that a Boker Tunnelrat on the last pic?

High Noon Holsters makes a nice gun belt. Be prepared to wait a while for it though unless you buy something they have in inventory. I'm usually wearing one even if I'm not carrying a pistol. The first one I got about 5 years ago and have worn it most days since. It's still in great shape; actually, it looks almost new. The 5.11 instructor's belts are also nice, but I work in an office, so I stick with the High Noon leather ones most days. The 5.11 gets worn for outdoor activities. If you get an instructor's type belt stick with the double layer ones that are stitched together. The single layer ones look similar, but don't do a good job of supporting much of anything.

All that said, I don't really see the need for a belt like this if you're just carrying a knife. It seems like overkill, but I have found that all of the highest quality belts I've had experience with have been gun belts. Sometimes the desire to have something nice is all the reason you need.

I really like the wilderness 5 stitch instructor belt. I use the frequent flyer which is light and has no metal parts. I wear it every day regardless if I have a knife or not. Very good belt and very durable. It also has the added benefit of being able to toss it in the wash.(hang dry) I don't know about you but I've seen some guys with old leather belts and they're nasty. Years of caked on sweat and whatever else. Gross.
