Looking for a good EDC for everyday carry. I previously had a Caly 3 but lost it in a move. Considering a Caly 3.5 and strech. Although I would consider Endura or delica.

Thanks for your input.

Here is the two of them together to maybe help you along. I like them both, the Stretch is cheaper.

If you liked the Caly 3, you'll love the 3.5. The extra 1/2" of blade makes for an ideal EDC.

+1

The Caly 3.5 is an awesome EDC and packs a lot of blade into a very elegant, slim and compact handle that has really great ergonomics. And since you had a Caly 3, you already know about its ultra thin grind above the edge that makes it one of the best slicers. It can easily handle the EDC tasks one is likely to encounter in an urban environment. It is more heavy duty than its appearance would suggest.

If you want something a little more heavy duty with a super strong compression lock and a bigger handle that allows a very strong grip, the Para Military 2 also makes a great somewhat more rugged EDC.

Both of these knives have about 3.5 inch blades. It's hard to recommend one above the other because they are both so awesome. Which is better just depends on the kind of tasks you expect to encounter and how much you value slimness and compactness although the PM2 is also easy to carry.

I personally never found the "raised" choil on the Stretch to be especially comfortable, I prefer the Caly 3 (never handled the 3.5) but wanted something less ergonomically specific so I went with the PM2 and Millie.

Great question this one. I have a Stretch2 and like it a lot, but I also adore the Caly3. So, the Caly 3.5 has been on my mind more or less since it came out

Haven't had a chance to handle one yet. Think I'll go up to my local tomorrow :)

Impossible for me to choose...if I had to pick one that's more versatile, it would be the Stretch though. But the Caly is more "gentlemanly" IMO. Both are in my top 2-3 favorite EDCs.

For me this would be easy:Caly3.5. Without a second of hesitation.
I love my G10 Caly3 and I carried every day since they come out until the day I received my Caly3.5. Caly3.5 even better: 1/2" longer blade in almost the same package.
I not crazy about drop point shape on Stretch, still I bought an original model because I love FFG blades and 3.5" is my favorite blade size. i never warm-up to that knife, sold it.

The Caly 3.5 is an outstanding knife and quickly became my new favorite edc.

I still can't figure out how Sal got an extra 1/2" of blade in the 3.5 since it is virtually the same size and weight as the Caly 3. :D

Easy choice for me. I EDC a Stretch CF. The blade has an elegant shape to it, and the ergonomics are perfect for my hand. The ZDP-189 blade stays sharp almost forever under normal use. The thinness of the Stretch CF makes it disappear in my pocket. If CF isn't your cup of tea or you can't find one, then the FRN ZDP-189 model coming out in BRG may fit your needs. If VG-10 is good enough for you, those models also abound. The Stretch provides good steel choices combined with excellent ergonomics and attractive lines.

The 3.5 is just so good looking with all that blade. My UKPK has been pestering me for a big brother...okay I made that up but it's as good a reason as any. :D
