EDC Choice

Hi
I was wondering if I could get some opinion's on which would make a better
every day carry knife.I am looking at the busse family of knives,the Game Warden,Active duty or Meaner Street .I want to use this knife for hiking ,camping,hunting all-around outdoor use.My only concern for the most
part is the handle size on the Game Warden might be a little small.What do you think.

EDC and all-around outdoor use usually don't go together.

An EDC would be small for a camp knife and vice versa.

Try to choose one knife for EDC, and one for outdoor use.

The Game Warden is perfect for EDC.

You dont have to worry about the handle on the GW being too small, its fine. I do wish it had a slighty longer blade on it though. It would be fine for edc..I wouldn't get the fat one for edc it may be too heavy for your liking.

I agree an EDC knife would not work as a camp knife.

There's a Busse subforum. If the question is specific to Busse models only, you would probably get more detail there.

I own all three in more than one thickness of each.

The Game Warden is a fine knife with lots of belly. The Meaner Street is a graceful, longer blade. The Active Duty, not as sexy as the Meaner Street, is by far my favorite. It feels great in my mitt. An overall outstanding blade.

My preference, in order, of the three you listed?

MRS
GW

Honestly, though, I EDC two blades. A folder (typically a Lg Seb Classic) and a Swamp Rat Howling Rat Gen 1, Res-c in the "man-bag."

If you like the Meaner Street, the Scrap Yard SS4 (INFI) is the same blade but with an ergo res-c grip.

EDIT: You've gotten several recommendations for the Game Warden. A great blade, no doubt. So much personal preference is how a blade fits an individual user. That said, with the AD, I can get all four fingers around the grip - With the GW, I cannot. The AD has less belly and more point than the GW. For skinning, bad. For EDC utility, good.

What does your every day use require of this knife? A good camping knife would generally be considered overkill for EDC, and a good EDC knife would be useful but generally overwhelmed by camping tasks. (this problem can be remedied by purchasing thousands of knives until you find just the right one)

If you are sticking to Busse, I agree. The AD is just a little longer in blade length with almost no perceptible difference in carry.

If you are one of the lucky ones who can get a busse, get a battle mistress. Use it for edc and camping.

. Seriously, I prefer a folder over a F.B for edc anyday and if you get a large one, you can use it for camping too. If Im going camping to a more civilized place, Ill just take a buck 110. JMO, but you can get an awsome folder for the price of a busse. Thats what I would do. And welcome to the forums, tons of great guys with great opinions but if your like me, the forums will make decisions harder if you know what I mean.
