:) I have very many newer and probably better knives in my repertoire , than my many years old EDC pair .

Yet I am somehow loath to change my long established carry habits .

I do use , try out , test and play with all my new ones ...but when it comes to the "moment of truth" when I load up for my out-of-doors carry , I nearly always want to return to my proven , familiar , tried and true .

It's weird and not very logical . But there it is ! o_O

I'm not asking for help or suggestions for new knives . I have a superabundance !

Probably way too many and yet I have no plans to stop buying and trying new ones . It's one of my main pleasures in life .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Mostly , just an observation of my knife buying vs actual routine carry .

I know that some others have an EDC rotation , but I've never been comfortable doing that .

I do try out my new ones , while inside / indoors my home . But outside is not the same for me .

I understand. I like to rotate my knives, usually either on whim or expected need. However, if I'm uncertain of what the day will bring, I'll grab my Manix 2 or my Domino. Do everything blade shape, thickness, great ergos. I would be very distraught if I lost that Manix though.

I’m sending kids off to school soon. Where do they go to learn the spacing punctuation used in this post? Fascinating :eek:;):(o_O:D!?§

My rotation consists of 50-60 slightly used, flawed/scratched, super-cheap ($20-$40), and the ones without boxes (stupid blister packs). My new condition knives over $100 stay at home. More, and more of my knives are becoming discontinued, so they are being removed from my rotation. Let me know if you need a hook-up on some 550 lanyards

I find smaller straight handled slim knives the best to carry in my pocket the most comfortably.

Here is a break down of some of the kings of folders

Kizer feist: one of the absolute kings of unobtrusive carry

Zeiba ms3,
Small sebenza 21 especially non insert models
Boker Urban Trapper; but this thing is more toy than knife
Benchmade 940 and especially my bugout (which has custom cf scales.
Spyderco Chapparell.

Any one of these guys is absolutely the pocket comfort champion. There are other comfortable knives out there too of course.

I live in the city so even lots of my “self defense” fighting knives are quite compact and comfortable to carry: clinch pick, silent soldier or perrin la griffe neck knife. Got a nice little SOCP dagger or even the deceptively low profile Street Beat.

im with you - i have one EDC - every day, put on pants, put Domino in pocket.

if I know the day will take me to places where another knife will be needed, i'll take it along too - but the Domino still goes in the pocket

I just realized that most of my folders now fall into two shapes. Either the wide, flat grind like the Manix or Ritter; or the long straight, narrow style like the Stryker, Valet, or Osborne 960. I have some oddballs here and there like the Aller but a good portion of my "for keeps" collection falls into one of those two categories.
