I've seen some threads on EDC and one recently that's like 68 pages long! Good stuff. But here's my thought. Some of us work in a tie and play in the dirt. Therefore, our EDC would change upon circumstance.

So how bout:

Every Day Carry
Every Day Weekend Carry
Every Day Outdoor Carry
Every Day Air Travel Carry

Or does that confuse the heck out of everyone?

I just think it would be nice, especially for those of us new to quality knives, to list out what everyone carries and when. That way a newbie won't have to toss a nice tool or knife in the trash at the airport.

Here's my EDC:

No knife, because my Ritter Mini isn't in yet and this forum has convinced me that any folding knife that's not in the Ritter, Sypderco, etc., quality category will cut my fingers off! I'm scared $hitle$$ of my S&W SWAT now. Thanks for that. I have the large Ritter and that is a nice EDOC.

My watch is a titanium Seiko Chronograph, which doesn't work because I spend all my free time on this forum and can't get to the store to replace the battery!

I do carry a cell phone, but dropped it and the top broke off. Believe or not, I now have less probelms with reception now, even though a data ribbon remains severed!

Let's see what else...oh, keys to the closets/safes where my .45, hunting sharps, and knives are locked up at home. I guess I still have some work to do in the EDC department.

Here's a tip for you all though. Kohl's department store has great shorts with plenty of pockets for our toys. Not cargo pockets, because I can't stand everything banging around down there, or having to sift through the contents to get what I need. Residual I guess from archery hunting...no noise!

These shorts are almost like the painters pants used to be and they several size and length pockets and one is actually labeled cell phone. They have slant pockets that are perfect for keeping a knife and tool handy. Good material that's keep everything secure and not swinging in the breeze and some are even blue jean. Inseam is like 8" or 9", so you're not wearing Magnum, PI shorts or looking like Dr. J. in a 70s basketball uniform.

Try out a pair of the 5.11 Tactical shorts if you get a chance. These do have to lower cargo pockets, but the way they are built, along with the heavy duty material used, prevents a lot of swinging/banging. The front pockets are slash pockets and at the bottom of that slash there is an extra overlap of material so that clipping a knife, or something else, will not wear out the pocket. Great shorts and L-- O-- N-- G lasting.

Oh yeah...........my edc, edwc, edoc are all covered with a Strider AR and a Case gunstock pattern. Don't have an edatc as I have never flown and do not plan on it!! :)

jmelby, how about some insight on the credit card? I like that idea.

artsig1, where can I find those tech shorts?

Hey jw3, try Brigade Quartermaster, or do a GOOGLE search on 5.11 shorts. Well worth the price, which normally runs $29.95.

Take any unwanted credit card or credit-card-like card and sharpen one edge on one side, chisel style. Just rough it in to start. You can use any coarse stone, or even drag it along some pavement.

Next, hold the edge over a stove burner, or in front of a radiant heater, or just about any heat source that is 150°F+. let it melt a bit. If it gets scorched, all the better.

Re-grind and repeat. After 2-3 reps, the edge of the card will be sharp enough to slice skin, and brittle enough to hold it.
