EDC ever save your life

Ever use your EDC in self defense?

Ever threaten to use it on a would-be attacker?

Ever defend yourself with a knife Vs. somebody who threatened you with another knife?

Would you change anything about your EDC carry setup to make it more effective?

(1) Yes...

(2) No.., if you deploy it.., use it.

(3) Yes...

(4) No...

Avoid knife fights.., nothing "cool" about it.., not fun..., and you will get cut even if you are the "Super-Hero" good-guy....

I agree with those tips... I've also heard that most people are more likely to slash with their knife than stab in a fight.
 
Actually, women are more likely to stab using an ice pick grip than slash. And when men do stab somebody, they most of the time use a sabre grip with a thrusting motion.

but a good intro to defending yourself with a blade is the "Knife Fighting Techniques from Folsom Prison" published by Paladin press. Again, it's only a basic intro that's more real than not.

I must however, keep on stressing that this little booklet is very preliminary, that one seeks instruction upon similar lines to the booklet's philosophy...

If you're in NYC, I picked up my copy at that "Shakespeare's bookstore" (I think that's what it's called), right next to Ricky's Pharmacy on Broadway just South of Astor Place.
