This one is one I had Phillip make for me using W2 w/a great looking hamon and I also convinced him to contour the handle on this one... I believe the first time he included that in his designs. VERY nicely done and it's so comfy in the hand.

Maroon Micarta handle w/ black spacer(spacers don't show that well w/the dark micarta). I think white spacers would have really POPPED on this one... gives me something for the next go around. Blade is about 5-1/2" and not sure how thick, but has a nice taper.

Here's some pics:

Wooow!
Great knife! You are luky.
Would you tell $$$ it cost?
How long knifemaker did you oder?

I believe the wait was a couple months on this one. Well worth the wait. Phillip's knives are a very good value if you ask me. Out of respect for PP I'd rather leave the prices up to him. You can find him in the "Makers" forums here. Usually has knives either for sale or new ones he's made for customers. I do think you could pay much more for the same or worse quality.

thanks a lot ))))))))))

I got to check out some of Phillip's work at the Ohio Classic show. He is very young and a bit naive and charges too little for his fine work. So get your orders in and take advantage of the boy before he wises up:p

jdm61... shhhhhh... keep that little bit of advice to yourself. :P j/j

I KNOW I'm not charging enough. ( or at least not as much as I could) But a certain knife dealer I'm working with keeps telling me I "need to price your knives according to your market position". Seems to me when my customers, and even competitors are telling me my prices are too low, that that IS the market speaking. Oh well. For now, I'm going to assume he knows what he's talking about and keep the prices where they are. But next June.... :D
But thanks, guys for the advice. ;)

Phillip... just my opinion as a humble consumer/user... not really a high-dollar collector (at least not at this stage of my life)...

I think you could probably charge a bit more for the quality of blade/knife you put out, however if you say charged ... oh... say... above 20% or more for your knives it may put a lot of people in my condition out of the market for your blades. Not saying you won't be able to sell everything you produce, but that would be unfortunate for some of us. I'll say your knives are excellent quality for the $$ you charge and I'm glad I was able to get this one when I did. I'd really like to have a 'twin' to this one only in damascus.... so I'll have to see what kind of cash I get for Christmas and what I can save in the meantime and put in an order before you become 'too popular'... joke intended. :)
