I have to wear a suit to the office every once in a while. Which one of these goes best with a black pin stripe suit? The Mayo TNT, Mayoized Sebie, or the carbon fiber Ralph EDC?

hmm... I guess I'd take the Ralph CF if I were wearing a dark pin stripe, otherwise I'd go with the Mayo/Benza. Class choices all the way around :D

Actually, all three are too heavy and will ruin the lines of your suit. You need to buy another knife. :D

I think dsvirsky has it right. I think all of your knives are 3oz+. Seems like too much weight to strain a nice suit's pockets. I think you should get a nice William Henry Lancet CF Black and Tan. Cheap(er) $176 at our illustrious sponsors and feather light at 1 oz. soaking wet. If you want a larger knife, the spearpoint is 3.25", 1.6 oz. and still (but only just) under $200.

Although, if forced to choose, I think I'd go with the CF Ralph.

It is a fasion faux pas to remove your jacket when wearing a suit... so, keeping that in mind, you can mount a heavy knife on your belt or carry a fixed blade.

How about an Anso Personal Sheepfoot with a sheath that matches (colorwise or even texture) your belt. It doesn't scream "knife", yet is a good utility cutter and could even be pressed into SD duty (use it like a "claw"). I wear mine on my belt at the office frequently (without a suit or anything covering it).

enkidu,

I agree with you about the weight being a bit of an issue. In fact I have a WH10CF which I carry almost every day because it only weighs an ounce and does almost everything I need it to do. However, these EDC's are more show pieces that I would like to carry around once in a while just for that very reason.

For your intended purpose I would rate them in this order:
EDC
TNT
Sebenza

And I have to disagree wtih the folks who say they're too heavy. A well-made suit should look good with anything up to the size of a katana hanging off of it. ;)

That EDC has the buffalo mark on the blade. There's nothing more fashionable than a Simonich folder.

The DDR is probably the way to go. In a suit, IWB carry, with the clip passing inside the belt, can allow you to carry even a decent-sized folder just about completely hidden--very discrete. I do it all the time.;)

Well, if it's for show, I'd take them in the order you listed them: TNT, Sebie, EDC order. But rotate them so you can show them all. :)

If your lookin' for a knife that's a nice size but won't print on a suit try the Warren Thomas/Beretta Avenger, all CF with a laminated CF/VG10 blade, this knife is so light you won't even know it's there, but it's a strong knife.
