Id like to change my EDC from large folder to a fixed blade, 4-5 inch blade, belt carry. Wondering what you all like. I'd like to stay around $100 ish. Thanks

What do you plan on doing with it? There's no one knife fits all option, so describing your desired usage will help us give good recommendations.
Personally, I find a 3-4" blade most useful; so that is what I usually carry.

For that price range and that type of knife, I think it would be hard to beat Civivi. They have a few models now as well as some that have been discontinued. The Tamashii in particular is well suited for EDC since it's lightweight for the size, and is designed for both everyday tasks and defense.

As mentioned, knowing plans for use would help with suggestions. Also, there is a recent similar thread with lots of knives.

I’ll say get a Mora in the size you’d like, I’d stick closer to the 4” blade range with a fixed blade because I find 5” bladed knives are just overall larger, not just in blade length, but blade height and thickness, which also leads to larger handles. So without knowing your hand size, it gives you a way to choose.

With Mora you also get a cheaper priced knife to see if you like carrying a fixed blade, except these get amazing reviews and are perfect for ease of maintenance, sharpening, keeping clean and so on. If you find you love it and can see yourself always having a knife on your belt, the sky is the limit on what you can buy!

$100 budget.....assuming you want a basic utilitarian blade....

Mora 611 and 612, which are pretty much a #1 and #2 with finger guard, with kydex....

Bottom pic is current version 3V . Taiwan made . Mine cost about $100 , on sale . 4.5" blade IIRC .

  Great knife for hunting , camping , etc . IDK about EDC ?
I think anything that can be a good camping or hunting knife would make a great EDC, not sure what we do every day that can't be done while camping or vise versa.

Everyone likes Mora!

Morakniv Companion Heavy Duty.
Blade Thickness: 0.125 inches (3.2 mm), Blade Length: 4.1 inches (104 mm), Total Length: 8.8 inches (224 mm), Net Weight: 4.8 oz. (135 g)

What I like about Mora is the way it cuts wood. I would say it is the best at cutting wood.
