Hey guys!

I'm new here, I have a ton of cheap knives, but none of them that I currently have fit the purpose I have in mind.

I'm looking for a fixed blade that I can EDC legally (MI and WI) preferably with a blade around 3 inches (give or take), a small serrated section would be great but if there isn't thats no problem.

Also preferable full tang.

I was also considering doing a horizontal carry on my left hip (I'm right handed) any opinions on the horizontal carry?

price range is not too high, as this will be mainly a utility knife that I can use for self defense if I need to. So around 50 bucks preferably no higher, i know most knives for less than that wont be the greatest quality, I just don't have the cash to put down on a good knife right now

As to blade shape theres really no preference just would not like a tanto style.

Black coating is a plus but not neccesary

This is the knife I EDC right now, its a great knife, good quality steel, just its a bit loose at the handle now, and I don't like the shape of the blade

CliffNotes: Fixed blade, full tang, slight to no serration, black coating a plus but not required, Horizontal carry opinions?

I like it, its at the top end of my price range however, if someone can find something a bit cheaper that would be awesome, but definitely going on my list

Izula or BK14...though it's likely that you'll need to make a custom sheath for the BK14 or wait and see what their new sheath is going to look like. The current sheaths for the BK14 seems to have a number of problems-I found mine rattling and lacking retention. The knife is good and meets your criteria though.

You may want to edit out that price, harkamus, as I think that qualifies as deal spotting.

i did more research on the izula, and i will definitely be getting one :D heck i'm getting my dad one for his birthday too even, thanks for the link harkamus, I didnt find that one with my searches :) thanks for the help guys :)

I've posted it lots before. If a mod wants to edit it, by all means, but it's from one of our bladeforum dealers.

The Izula is just hard to beat for fixed blade EDC. it's small enough for pocket carry, makes a good neck knife and can be worn on the belt. The blade is a little thick for some delicate tasks but it's designed as a beater, something you can send to hell and back and still get a hair popping edge on. Plus the warranty can't be beat, if you saw the knife in half with a hack saw they will replace it for you.
