So how does everyone carry their fixed blades? Pics would be GREAT! I have to where uniform pants and button up shirt at work. Kinda want to look into ways of carrying fixed blades. Loosely tucked in shirt wearing a belt. Can not be a big knife. Currently carry a ZT 0450. Clipped in back pocket. Yes it works. No I don’t NEED a fixed blade. But... well... I just want one.

Thanks

Mike

I rarely carry fixed but when I do it's almost always a Benchmade 162 Bushcraft, left side cross draw. Hmmm. Sounds like an old beer commercial.

Guardian 3.
Carothers EDC 2

Both great small fixed blade knives

I usually carry either a Bradford Guardian 3 in a kydex sheath I got with it, or a Spyderco Street Beat in a leather horizontal sheath made for the Guardian (it fits well and I like it more than the kydex sheaths I got with the Street Beat that sat too high above my belt).
View media item 2140Both sit at about 2:00 - 3:00 on my right hip but the placement varies based on the belt loops on whatever pants/shorts I am wearing and what I am doing. Sometimes, It'll get pushed forward or back depending on external factors. If I want something more discrete in a fixed blade, an A.G. Russell Woodswalker can sit in my right back pocket in the leather sheath I got with it, but I have to pull the sheath out to replace the blade, which is a pain in the backside.

Good luck and enjoy.

Edit: added pic.

Neck carry was how I carried my Bud Nealy fixed blade for years. Under a loose button down Aloha shirt it was inconspicuous. I also carry a Chris Reeve Shadow III in a pancake sheath. The sheath concealed most of the knife up to a couple inches of the handle that was exposed. Nice piece of kit.

Semper ubi sub ubi.

Strong advocate and practitioner of horizontal crossdraw for a small fixed blade. Pics I got pics. The wife modeling this pair of chinks (short chaps) we just finished for a customer.

Built right retention is not a problem. Same grey chaps, ranch bronc riding last night. Chaps not so new now:

Works really well, is comfortable and out of the way for what we do.

For most of my edc and back up (to my pistol) sd blades I use a g-clip iwb back left hip. I've gotten really use to carrying, drawing, using, and re-sheathing a 4 inch or so fixed blade in this carry position. The other blade I edc frequently is a bit heavier so I prefer doing it cm style (but with no cant) on my left side opposite my pistol.

You really do have to find the right type of blade, sheath, attachment, and placement that works for you. Getting advice here is great and very helpful but ultimately you'll need to try some things out to find what you like.

Static cord has been the most versatile for me up to this point. Belt, no belt doesn’t matter I can secure the cord and carry comfortably with hardly any printing.

I also really like them and they work very well with their knives. The new White River Backpacker Pro I just got has a kydex sheath that you can adjust for horizontal belt carry which would work really well. Just not as convenient as the Dozier kydex sheath as you can put them on without taking off your belt (especially in the cross draw position).

Being able to put on and remove without taking off your belt is a key for me. I won't hardly consider an attachment system if that is not possible.
