Hey guys, I'm looking to find a small fixed blade that I could edc, my only real requirements are a decent steel, around 3 inch blade length and a good pocket sheath. I'm going for semi custom. I've never shopped for a fixed blade before so forgive me if my information is a bit lacking but thats pretty much all i can think of, I wouldn't mind if it looked nice too but that really is the last thing on my mind honestly.

With a $350 range you should be able to find something that suits you. You state you are going custom but how about an RC3 with the provided molded sheath? You should be able to drop it in your pocket no problem.

Dozier Knives have several small sized fixed-blades I'm sure would be ideal to perfect for edc. Their Arkansas Made models are generally around $205-250 depending on what sheath configuration you choose and the handle material., Arguably (and of course there will be ;)) the top value at said price. All of the standard Arkansas Made models come in Dozier's renown D2 and with top of the line kydex sheaths, the horizontal carry is particularly handy, but you can specify what kind of sheath you want, and I'm sure they'd make a pocket sheath for you. These models listed all have a blade of either 3 1/2 inches or less.

They have a Featured Inventory updated every Monday with knives immediately available for sale. It's a random offering, but you'll have to act swiftly, they are sold very quickly.

The first out of these that I ever got was a K-31 Arkansas Traveler. It's an exceptionally useful size and shape, I carry and use it regularly.

What will primarily be cut with this EDC? Do you want insane edge retention or a really tough steel or maybe a little bit of both? For $350 you can get 2 Spyderco Mules and get scales w/ a kydex or leather sheath.

Bob Dozier (as stated) and Bark River both make a great selection of knives in this price and size range.

With the combination of grinds, steels, handle material, and the availability of sheath options; semi-custom is what you would receive.

PS - Many true Customs can be had in that price range as well.

Look at the Maker's Forums here.

We also need what kind of style you want. ESEE, blind horse knives and bark river are all very different styles...

Dude, for $350, just go full custom. You can find some very nice customs on here for a bit less than that. Find a maker you like and have him/her make you something.

thanks for all the great suggestions guys, the dozier knives look very nice! To be honest all I really cut is cardboard at work and occasionally do some food prep, I'm wanting it to be also usable as a bushcraft/survival knife in a pinch. My current EDC is a small reg sebenza and I find the blade to be pretty much my ideal size for edc since where I work tends to see its fair share of sheeple. Another thing is that my sharpening skills are non existent lol.

Production, Busse. there is a separate subforum on here for secondary market.

But I support taking a look at the custom makers subforum. There are always great customs for sale.

$350 is really in the sweet spot for a small user custom fixed blade for sure.

Your mileage may vary, but I find that 3" is about as large as I would think about carrying... I've got a smaller one now that I feel is just right for in-pocket EDC: The Koster Scout in CPM 3V.

Shown above in Black Micarta, from KSF's site.

Pick up that and a Spyderco Sharpmaker to keep it touched up, and you're at just about $200.

If you want a fancier-looking knife, check out the Bark River Tusk, Woodland Special, Rising Wolf, or several others. Here's my Tusk in 3V and Desert Ironwood:
