I looking for a EDC fixedblade. I'm thinking 4" blade so not to draw attention and just be a good utility type knife. I think I will spring for a good kydex sheath (have more invested in the sheath than the knife). Something reasonable cost and easy to replace.

The Buck Woodsman looks good. I would like a small guard for safety.
Any suggestions?

ESEE Izula or Becker BK-11

I tried to EDC my ESEE-4 (4.5in blade) and it was noticeable. Go with something smaller. You will be suprised with how much you can do with a blade the size of the Izula's or BK-11's.

I've been carrying the Ka-Bar TDI as my EDC fixed blade. I have to say I'm happy with it. Small blade, under 3", but I haven't run into anything that it hasn't been able to handle. I but down a little extra for the metal belt clip, but it works real well.

Not 4 inches but I love my Hinderer Flashpoint.

If you really need 4 inches checkout the ESEE RC-4

A few more I thought of:

Swamprat HRLM
Swamprat Vex
Scrapyard MPLE
Busse active duty
Busse meaner street
Busse Game Warden

When I get paid I'll be looking at a Strider PR-GG. 3 3/8 blade, Gunner gripped handle about $220-250

I am getting this one sometime this week.

And here's the maker testing his product: EDIT-this would be the side of a refrigerator.

Izula! Or BK11. I have both, but the Becker only comes out when there's a party going on (bottle opener is a handy thing!) or when I feel the need to change it up.

I just picked this up from Koyote.

Its a 3.5" blade and about 4.5" handle. I keep it in my man purse while I'm at the office, and carrying it horizontal cross draw when I'm working outside around the house. It's a sweet blade!
