i was looking at a small fixed blade for edc lately to replace my folder. i have been looking at the bark river little creek as a possibility but was wondering if there was any other suggestions i jsut want a 2-3 in. blade im not looking to spend more than around $175 but will go up to 200 if its worth it

Look at the ESEE Izula or Izula 2 both under $90 and also available with a kit. You can customize the handles on both (Knife Connection).

Try looking under fixed blades fs in the Exchange. I've been looking for an edc size fb for a few weeks and finally found 1. I paid a little more than $100 for my custom
made fb under fb fs in the exchange.
I'm almost postive you'll get more for you $$ on the exchange than those that mass produced. Just my $.03.
There are lots of very talented knifemakers in this section of the exchange.....check it out.

You can go several pages back from pg. 1 and find 1 that hasn't been sold that may be exacty what you're looking for............

Sage advice, my friend!

There are some very nice customs to be had under the $200 mark... have a browse! You can always pick up a production blade afterwards if you don't see anything that 'trips yer trigger'....

Look up Alan Davis on the exchange, he makes these cool little fixed blades out of 1095 and old "Misery Whip" sawblades for around $90-$120 with sheath.

Esee just came out with a new small fixed blade called the Candiru. Blade length is 2" its from a good company with a great warranty. They can be found for under $50 new, and micarta handle scales for about $20, if youre into that.

Alan Davis makes ludicrously cool looking 1095 blades. But there are really makers to any sort of taste or desire. There are a lot of makers who will do whatever you want them to do. I seriously reccomend Pohan Leu if your willing to spend the money, and Mark Goldsworthy. Mark has insanely fast turnover too.

how can i go to someones page to see there work without haveing to find something they posted... is there a way i can type in there name and see there work?

Some makers have their own web sites that you can view by typing in their names, but a lot of the makers on BF just use BF as their web "home". Alan Davis has a stag & misery whip EDC on page one of the fixed blades F/S forum now. Just go there and look at the kind of work he does. He will also tailor a knife to your tastes. I have two of his blades and he made both of them to my specs. They are well under your price limit and they're designed as EDC FBs. They can also be carried in a pocket sheath if you're not wearing a belt.

BTW, the Little Creek is a great FB for a pocket sheath. I have one in blue/black G10 and it's a very sturdy little knife. It is small and the blade is thicker than you might want for a slicer, but it's fine for general EDC cutting where you may need a bit stouter blade than a dedicated slicer would have.
