It looks like it should be acceptable for carry in NYC. The blade is under 4 inches, and it is single edged- so it shouldn't inherently be a dagger or dangerous knife. As a plus, it has a pretty non-tactical utilitarian design. Obviously it would have to be carried concealed, except when in actual use- like all other knives in the City.
Being a fixed blade, it is more likely that you will be questioned about it- than if it was a little red Swiss Army Knife of equal length. You need to prepare yourself to respond that you are carrying it only as a tool if asked (and you opt to answer). This could be difficult, and how (or if) you are going to answer the question is something you need to think about- preferably before you start publicly toting it. Remember that your words can (and will) be used against you- choose them carefully if you choose to speak. if you respond that it is for use against your fellow man (including self defense)- you will be looking at charges, even if the knife itself isn't inherently illegal.
