EDC Fixed Knife for suits

Hello BF,

I need some help and pictures would be GREAT! I wear a suit for work everday and currently carry a Spyderco Centafonte folder, but I am looking to go to a fixed blade. I am looking at the ESEE Izula with a custom sheath. I'm also thinking of the Bark River City Knife but the handle is bulky and very expensive for my budget, but a guy can dream. :hopelessness:

My mode of carry would either cross draw, SOB or IWB (mostly IWB). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your help!

Anything you get that is useable and easy to deploy with good retention in case you need to run is good. You might consider something that is under your armpit that hangs handle down and has a bungie to your belt to keep it close. It would not even need to go across your back...just around the shoulder. You could get it easily while seated or in a vehicle as well.

You haven't said what your size limitations are, if any. You may want to contact some of the custom makers on the boards here. I also like small FBs for EDC. I have some BRKT's but my favorites are an Alan Davis stag handled custom and a Keith Murr Small Companion from A G Russell. Both can be set up for RH crossdraw from a left side carry and both sell for less than or near the City Knife, which I also have and like very much. Most of my EDC FBs are in the 6" to 6 1/2" OAL range.

Customs would be a really good way to go. If you like BRKT but want a slimmer handle, the Bravo Necker 1 or 2 with the handle scales (or you can make your own) make a pretty good deal. They've got them out in CPM 3V now too. I carry mine horizontally on the back of my belt.

I think this looks pretty classy. Nemesis Hellion.

Sorry about that, left out the size limitations. I am looking for the blade to be between 2.5" - 3" with an OAL of 6"-7".

7.5 inches overall if I'm not mistaken. He also makes a 6 inch overall version.

I don't think it gets classier than this given a limited budget. Simple and clean lines on this guy.

Spyderco street beat or blackjack necker. I have both and love em (and wear them with suits everyday)

One can see where this thread is leaning. Suits are great for concealing just about anything, I have had customers who belt carry a variety of knives including fixed blades like a Buck 119 come for sharpening. Fixed blade carry by those who dress formal is more common than one would think.

Tom Krein should get a mention. Three or four small customs that Krein makes, and some factory collaborations (CRKT Dogfish)

Dirk Pinkerton Focus.

Simonich Bitterroot.

Timberline Mini-pitbull. Maybe a little tacticool....

Mike Snody makes some small FB's, I think.

Finally, +1 to the Nemesis Hellion. Somewhat similar in profile to your Centofante, as well.

this one might be out of your price range but i had the folder version of it and really wouldn't mind having the fixed blade.
