Hi everyone. I know virtually nothing about flashlights but I know a lot of you guys have the flashlight bug like we all have the knife bug so hopefully you can help me out. I want something he can carry with him (or at least keep nearby) all the time so maybe 3" long or so? Wicked bright, lithium power, etc. He usually has a D cell Maglite but my baby brother is always misplacing them (how can babies lose such big things??? wtf?) so I want to get him a nice light he can keep on him to blow the Maglite out of the water. Budget of 100-150 I guess? Thanks!

Call Henry at HDS. His lights are $199, but you can't beat 'em! They are way overbuilt & will literally do anything you could ask from a flashlight. HDS is notorious for long wait times, but in the next week or so they should actually be completely caught up. If that's way too overbudget, look into putting together a Solarforce build. Way cheaper & super bright, but a LOT less function.

Plenty of lights in your budget sir. Two of my favorite, multi-mode, insanely bright, CR123/RCR123 powered are these:

Foursevens Quark 123
Olight S10

I recommend the JetBeam RRT-01.

Small, super bright, no fiddling with "click 20 times to get to the mode you want", and it's compatible with rechargeables, which saves tons of money over primaries as well as being significantly brighter.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I'll look into these and come back if I have any questions

What's a good CR123 charger? I found some cheapy looking Chinese ones but I'd like to get something that doesn't look like it only cost me a dollar haha

Make very sure whatever light you buy is compatible with rechargeables , though. You'll smoke the light
if it isn't.
