We'll, I'll start. Alternates between a SAK 2 1/2", a Spyderco with 2 1/2" blade, and a William Henry Lancet on the way at 2 5/8".

Washington state law says over 3" is a deadly weapon when used in a crime, but is vague on permissible length. So I play it safe and try to stay under 3".

BTW, on the small Apogee, what is the actual blade length. It's listed at 3" most places, but have seen it called at 3 1/8". Thanks.

At work I try to carry a simple drop point of about 3.5 inches, I use it a lot!! After work is another story, I try to carry a bigger blade, about 4 inches, usually(but not always) a Tanto.

For general utility I carry a 3-1/2" drop point folder, with a 3” version on dressy occasions. (IBL, of course.) I also carry a sub 3” spearpoint or Warncliffe blade as an “apple and sandwich” knife next to my wallet, usually a liner lock.

I carry a Terzuola ATCF and a BM Pinnacle daily, both just under 4" which is just about the limit here in NJ and NY.

BTW, Darrel, have I reminded you this week that it's time to get back to powerlifting?

One of several folders between 2 7/8 and 3 1/8; always an SAK on keyring, and usually a Spyderco Delica. I do see a Calypso on the horizon.

now what is the difference between this post and the one about gents blade length...im not telling cause its one of my big trade secrets that nobody knows....hahahahaha. i carry the biggest folder i have when out and about....its for my safety...not for cutting rope.

In the office, I carry a knives that run about 2 1/2 or less. Funny some of the folks do not like that from a few comments that have been made, but it is ok to have a fixed kitchen knife packed with lunch or a pair of scissors laying on a desk

. Outside of the office the length I prefer is between 3 1/2 and 4 1/2. For dressier occasions I go back to 2 1/2 or a tadd less.

Depending on the handle, anything between a 3 1/4" and 3 3/4" blade is perfect for a daily carry, IMO. The small Apogee is just about the ultimate daily carry.
