Hello,

I'm looking for an everday carry-knife (EDC) for police-duty. I prefer high edge retention to corrosion resistance. I wil not do the sharpening myself because... well... I can't do it... so it really is not an object if the knife is hard to sharpen. I already have a SOG Multitool on my belt so the knife really should not be that versatile, serrations are not necassary. Something that can be drawn quickly would be nice. I'm willing to pay quite a lot, never mind the prices, I will look into that later on.

In summary:

* EDC police-knife
* High edge retention before corrosion resistance
* Will be combined with multitool
* Quick-draw

Thanks and see ya.

many of the makers here sell on the exchange forum. you will find it at the top of the mainpage. then scroll to knife makers corner. hope this helps

Koolstof,
I`m a knifemaker by night and I wear a badge by day,I dont make folders yet but I do think there is a small to medium sized sheath knife that we can design that will fill your needs.
E-mail me if interested.

I have some cruwear that really needs to find a good home,the irony is,I cant wear a knife at work(I work in a prison)but I can see some good designs in my mind of what I would wear if I could.(not to mention the belt fed .50 cal. machine gun.)Utility and defense,rescue and oh shi%!! combined.
For a Brother of the sheild,I`ll keep the price civil.
Scott

HA. You always keep the price civil.

And jsut to give a plug, he does great work. Have a neck knife from him that's EDC whenever I ride bike or go running or anything(ride bike to work about 80% of time, so have it all those times). Wear it outside while on bike, slip it under shirt while at school/work. perfectly designed, low profile(both in width and thickness) so that it doesn't print or ever draw attention. Well, except when I bring it out, then people try to steal/buy it from me. :) Scott's a good guy to work with.

How about something like this? But without the shark on the handle or the etching on the blade. Blade is 2 3/4 in long and made of D-2. Blade has been satin finished and then etched in ferric chloride. Titanium thumbstud and 3/32 titanium liners which have been anodized blue and jeweled. This is a framelock. Action is smooth and lockup is rock solid! This knife can be made larger if necessary.

Kool, I'd recommend a Kit Carson M16 or M4. He makes his blades with a flipper on the tang end and you can pop them open real fast with one hand. I'm not sure what Kit's back log is but his knives are top notch! If you want to email him click on his name under the moderator list at the top of the page in the thread list. Or come to the Blade Forums chat room on IRC and talk to him, he's there most every night around 9:30 or so.
Here's a link to his web site.

Thanx a bunch for your replies, I will look into your offers and perhaps, if may budget allows it, buy one.
