My new lefhanded classic has just arrived with me at work OH HAPPY DAY (not much more work done this afternoon me thinks)

This thing is huge compared to my small one (oo err missus)

The double thumb studs make a big difference in opening as you can pinch the two studs between thumb and trigger finger to start off the opening. I have shall have to send my small off when I can bear to part with it for a few weeks (I can't carry the large EDC as over 3" blade)

I think I prefer the profile of the classic handle cut away for closing. The ridges on the standard one dig into my thumb after a few dozen opening and closings :D

The handle colour is at least one shade lighter than my small standard, I sort of expected the titanium to be exactly the same shade but it goes really well with the blasted screws.

Now I just need to save up for an unique graphic small classic.

This is going to be hard as the distie over here has a Green Berret knife in stock just wating for me. What to do??????

Hi Harvey,

Just to make your decision even harder....

I'm not a collector of fixed blades (Shadow III on order though!), but I have handled the Green Beret Knife at Franks shop (Framer), and it is VERY, VERY nice. One thing that suprised and impressed me was the contoured grip - extremely comfortable and aesthetically very pleasant on the eye.........the one I examined was also (obviously) "as sharp as a very sharp sharp thing" as Blackadder might say.

Hope this helps :D :D

It does not help one little bit Nigel

I also have a Shadow III on order from Frank for when they come in but I am torn between that, a Green Berret and saving up for another benza????????

BTW Nigel, what size hands do you have, I ask as I am fairly well endowed in the hand front (fnar fnar)

Hi Harvey,

My Grandad used to say I had "hands like size 4 shovels" (he was a miner), so yes, quite handy. I guess you're asking with regards to the Green Beret Knife. It is a fully contoured, hand filling grip - there is a "palm swell" (for want of a better phrase) in the lateral plane that you cannot discern in any of the photos I have seen. Fitted my mitts perfectly....

I've also get a large regular Sebbie on order, which will be quite enough spent on knives this year

What I realy would like is a small wood sebbie.......may just order one in the hope that I can save enough by the time it arrives....

....another problem is the fact that I have recently discovered Surefire flashlights.....too many toys, not enough cash :)

Nigel

I too have just started buying surefire as well.

I have a G2Z with the P61 assembly in the car and an E2 put away for the missus for Christmas (I know need an E2E-HA to replace it HA HA)

Did you spring for the Green Berret or not?

I think I aought to wait for the Shadow III though as I may even use that one rather than just look at it.

If I was still in the TA I would have jumped at the Green Berret but I think common sense must prevail (for a while anyway- I had Franks contact page up on the puter this afternoon ready to ring him)
