Well to start I currently carry a Spyderco Delica w/ wave and it's an ok knife it just feels small to me. I am a bigger guy and wear a size XXL glove (My ZT300 and Adamas fit my hand great). That being said I love my auto adamas, it's just a big large/heavy to carry in my front left pocket (where I prefer to carry my knife). I really like the auto-axis opening of the adamas and one of the reasons I am considering the auto Presidio. I was talking to a buddy and he mentioned the griptilian line and told me how easy it opens even though it is a manual. I don't have any experience opening a manual axis lock and was hoping for some feedback comparing it to the auto. This will be my everyday knife and as mentioned I will be carrying it in my front left pocket, I typically wear cargo shorts and the only other thing in that pocket is my badge holder with clip on the back. All feedback appreciated comparing the two knives with pros and cons. If I went with the griptilian it would be the doug ritter version and if the presidio it would be the auto. My major concerns about the griptilian is the plastic grip and manual opening, for the presidio it would be the size for pocket carry. Thanks in advance!

Stock Grips do feel and sound "plasticy", but I wouldn't be concerned about manual vs auto-- manuals "instant" as well.

I have both, but gen'ly prefer the 520-- whereas the Grip handle tapers down top/rear the 520 continues back further, filling my hand better. So 520 a bit bulkier (and heavier) but compared to the Adamas (owned one of those as well), 520 seems miniscule.

Ryxlyx does a great job of describing the two. My vote is for the Griptilian. I have both and the light weight of the
Griptilian is what I prefer.

Do y'all know of any videos or tutorials on different opening methods? Or just use the thumb studs?

Did you keep the stock grips or swap them out?

I both knives and think they're both great. I almost never carry my Presidio though because the scales tear up my pant pocket.

I love my full size Griptilian but I'm not a fan of the plastic grips. I say go with a full size Griptilian and change those scales out with a nice set of Wilkins or Cuscadi scales.

I vote for the Presidio, which is the better knife (for me anyway.) If Benchmade did anything this year to make things pickup in their offerings, they should consider slapping G-10 scales on their Grips. When the replacement scales like Cuscadi's outcost the knife itself something's wrong. I don't have a problem with the scales on the Presidio, just take the clip off and bend it back a little. Easy fix.

I agree that the Presidio is a better knife. Love mine. I've tried to loosen the clip to ease the problem a bit but its too loose for my taste. At least for me, my jeans cost more than the Presidio, so for the most part it stays in the safe.

A loose clip can catch on things; bend it, don't loosen the screws. It's always hard to read an owner putting a nice Presidio away in favor of clean pockets on costly jeans...there are alternatives, I carry mine in a large velcro pouch horizontally placed on my belt. I know it's there and check off the pocket wear...!
