I thought when the first EDC's came out there was a 420 blade steel for approximately $20. Was that an intro deal only?

I don't see any forsale anymore.

Thanks,

New and Improved EDC.....
Paul,
The "New and Improved" EDC will feature the following upgrades.....

154cm blade...STANDARD.

Stonewash Finish.....STANDARD.

BLack Ti Nitride coated screws, spacers, thumbstuds, and pocketclip.....STANDARD.

All for the same low price of $69.95 suggested retail....same as the now discountinued EDC in 420HC......

Taken from a thread by Will Fennell sometime in January of this year. Hope this helps!
Found it again-http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=188069

Maybe you're thinking of the Arclite, another DDR design that came out shortly before the EDC, in 420HC. The Arclite is a neck knife, and it did go for ~$20.

Even at discounted/closeout retail, I don't think the original EDCs ever went that low.

check Cumberland knives & cutlery.4" closed satin finish flat ground 420hc recurved blade. $48.30.

I feel I should mention I am not familiar with this company. I'm sure they are great, but I have not ordered from them before so I cannot tell you what to expect. Just trying to cover my butt.

Just picked up an Arclite from CherylR and company for $14.95 + S/H. You just can't beat a price like that and the service was terrific.

Lost my first EDC kicked myself in the butt ever since But I just got my NEW one and Happy again !!!!!!!! Great little knife looks good too

You are not mistaken DaveH. The EDC originally came out in 420HC steel, which I said was a poor idea. I was right! ;)

A.G. Russel still offers the 420HC model on his web site, so it must still be available elsewhere as well.

Will shoulda' listened to me! :D  :D
