Just wondering what you guys consider essential for your everyday needs, in other words what do you always have with you?
Personally, for around the house and shop, I keep it pretty simple. Usually a SAK, phone, lighter, small flashlight, and pen. If I leave I add my wallet, keys, and either my S&W 638 or Glock 43.

And normally a phone since we don't do radios at work.

Edit: I usually have another modern folder in the pocket, moose slipjoint in a crossdraw, or a fixed blade in the pocket. Every additional layer like a vest or jacket also has a knife in the right front pocket as I hate fighting to get into a covered pocket when I want a knife and for heavier jackets, I have a glove-friendly folding knife.

My newest addition is an XL boker techtool in orange which I really enjoy as they added scissors to that one (exclusive to a non-forum supporting website).

Lastly, I've started making it a habit to carry an EDC bag that carries a lot of things that I don't carry on my person but I want to have easy access to. Multitool, more paper (small journal in my work vest I often wear), pens and pencils, fixed blades for heavy duty tasks, IFAK, and something semi-rigid for carrying important documents I don't want beat up.

SAK, phone, flashlight, locking folder or small fixed blade, small multitool on the house keys keyring, wallet.
 
any one of 50 pocket knives from peanuts to shrade sp7, a pocket magnifier and my phone. That my "off to work pocket load"
 
Maratac AAA, Case Peanut, and phone always. When I leave the house I add a traditional folder and a pocketable fixed blade. Sometimes I feel frisky and carry more than that, sometimes a little less, but always the flashlight and Peanut.
 
Jk urban set in a pocket slip with a brass space pen and mini bic lighter , wrist watch ,phone and keys. Not at work add .45acp extra mag and a jk belt knife of some kind.
 
IMG_1334.jpg Skinth pouch with Leatherman Wave, Fisher Space Pen, Streamlight Microstream and JK Kiridashi is always with me. JK Hurley Creek which will rotate with other JK's of course! Pen and folder will change from time to time.
 
Either a SA or a Case Sodbuster Jr, lately. It changes with my mood for that week. I also like my Jk Hurley Creek, thicker version, when I want a fixed blade. I am trying to use my BnT and Extended Worker too, if I can work in carry options.
