EDC kit recommendations

Nail clippers, some wet wipes, packets of your favorite condiment, a spare USB charging cable (if your phone uses one).

I'm an old guy, so heart attack or falling down is a possibility...my keyring has a good metal whistle (don't really worry about freezing weather and have broken a Fox) to summon help, and a pill fob containing some aspirin.... included in the generic multi tool pouch with the Leatherman is a Streamlight TacPro single cr123, section of hacksaw blade, 1/8" ferro rod, safety pins, needle, tweezers and petroleum cotton ball in a piece of plastic straw

Those are some good recommendations, but I'm not making a pocket survival kit. It's just something to carry around the everyday stuff for general urban travel. Stuff that's handy, but can't ride on the belt due to my sheath knife, or in the pockets due to clutter.

Well I just added a zippo to my daily E.D.C. even though I'm not a smoker. Cool lighter though, I like to fiddle with it because I love the sound of it opening and closing :D

I would add a mini-bic, stubby usb cable for your phone, a small cash stash, a couple safety pins and mini zip-ties.
Another possibility would be a laminated business card with name, emergency contact info and such, in case your wallet walks off, and someone needs to call for help for you.
For all the random crap I carry all the time, the stuff that gets used most are the simple things like a pen, tweezers, scissors, flashlight, and painkillers.

Victorinox Huntsman in camo, generic lighter, sharpener (that actually works excellent), an XL Zermatt sheath. There are tweezers & a toothpic in there too. Simple, compact & highly functional.
