So... where to begin? I was wondering if someone could help recommend a knife that is similar in size, style, proportions, materials, etc.. to the Masters of Defense small tactical tanto. I had been carrying that knife in my purse for quite some time after having received it as a gift, unfortunetly I recently misplaced it. I understand that these knives have since been discontinued so getting another is not an option. Hope someone can help. I look forward to hearing any suggestions.

There are some listed on the "largest online catalog of cutlery"... Just do a google search for "masters of defense small tactical tanto.

I'm not real familiar with the MOD but just looking at a photo and size measurements I would suggest the Kershaw Leek and Benchmade 470. A lot of people like the Spyderco Sage and it will be somewhat similar in size but with the hole in the blade it will be a bit taller. All 3 of these are quality knives and cover a wide price range. The Leek is the cheapest but is available in a wide variety of models and is of high quality.

Sorry to hear that you misplaced your knife. I hope you enjoy your experience finding a replacement. If I was you, I'd check out Spyderco. There not into tantos, but they have some great blades.

How about the Emerson Mini Cqc-7 a hair under 3" and great Emerson quality and design.

How about a Cold Steel Mini Recon 1 or one of their Voyagers? Good Luck! Kevin :D
