First off I am a newly registered member of this forum. I have been trolling this forum for a long while now and only recently took the time to register.
So first i would like to say thank you to everyone for having me on this forum.

Now on to my question/reason i registered.

I am looking for others opinions and Reason (important) they recommend a certain knife for Every Day Carry(EDC). I have a couple nice knives (Busse, Randal, Dozier, Graham, and several other) however i am looking at buying a new knife for EDC the above mentioned are slightly to large for EDC.

Parameters, I carry numerous tools of the trade already I am looking for a solid fixed blade that is somewhere between 2.75 and 3.50 inches in blade length. It will be worn in a weak side kidney position or in horizontal belt sheath.

The Knives i am currently considering are Bob Dozier KM Agent, Arkansas traveler, Personal Utility, & ESEE-3.

The knife's expected use. It will be a general use blade that i also intend on using as a camp knife, defense tool (should that extreme rare case arise) do not intend on prying with it however i would like it to be tough.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I don't have a specific recommendation but Bark River has a wide variety of choices. You might find something among them that suites your needs.

Welcome to the forum!

Spyderco Fred Perrin Street Beat is a nice fixed blade: 3.5" VG10 flat ground blade, about 0.156" thick at the spine. I love the unique grip which keeps the overall length of the knife handle short, but it remains nicely balanced and easy to get a strong grip on the blade.

For a fixed blade EDC that has a reasonable length blade, yet its OAL is compact enough to make it easy to carry for a FB, this is a good knife. Only drawback is its more pricey than its quality carbon steel counterpart blades, such as the ESEE 3 for instance. But I think the stainless, VG10, micarta grips, and compact size make it well worth it. Also this Spydie comes with a very reasonable quality Boltaron sheath with a Spyderco G-clip for your belt, it can be rotated to horizontal, vertical, or even a canted carry position.

I think you have already solved your problem with mention of the Bob Dozier Agent. I have the KM20 Boot and it is a really nice carry with it's kydex horizontal carry. This or an Agent would be what I would like to carry once I retire and don't have to worry with company rules!

I like my ESEE 3 and Eskobar for EDC. I usually go with the 3, little larger and heavier but not so much that its uncomfortable to carry. I especially like that there are so many carry options for the ESEE knives.
