Any recommendations on an EDC Lighter? I smoke the occasional stogie but that's about it. Looking for something small, durable, and refillable. I prefer butane over fluid. Needs to be small as my load-out is already pushing the edge. Water-proof/resistant is a plus. Thanks

I have had my Colibri Quantum for over 9 years now, and it works great, wind, and water proof. after five years it took a dump, so I sent it back, and paid them twenty bucks, and they sent me a new lighter. I paid $65.00 for it. Seems like a lot to pay for a lighter, but just think how many bics you can go through in ten years:D

I'd recomend a Windmill in anodized aluminum: stormproof, small, light and elegant. I recently got one (though, like you, I use it mostly for lighting the occasional cigar) and I have to say that it's great.

I'll second the Colibri Quantum. I have the Windmill but mine doesn't have enough umph. I also have the Brunton and its just too big but otherwise excellant.

My favourite - and one of my top gadgets is this little micro torch.

Yes, you can really weird out people by lighting their fags with them [err, that means cigarette in England :-)]

I've used it mostly for stuff like melting(defraying) nylon cord - and lighting garden torches.

I don't know where you'd source it from in the US

Zippo

Nothing is quite as pleasurable as having your hands always smell like gasoline.

Seriously though, if this is just a throw it in your pocket lighter for walking around the city and not a "I might die if this thing craps out on me" kinda lighter.. The Zippo, 1. looks nice, 2. is extremely "American", and 3. is always fun to fiddle with in your hand.

I can also say in 2 years of having my Zippo dinking around in my pocket and being flipped, dropped, lit, almost all day. It has only failed for me once, and it was because it was out of fluid.
