I know there have been a few lighter question threads but I don't really remember there being a thread for EDC lighters. So what lighter do you EDC?

I've carried a variety of zippos for years and for the past year or so I've carried a Blazer PB-207. Just got this baby the other day and for a soft flame lighter, it's probably my favorite:

It's an IM Corona Old Boy. I got it at an awesome price. Its used and a little banged up but works great, lights every time.

I started smoking my pipes again and recently purchased a Zippo made for pipe smokers. Gets the tobacco lit without singing the pipe rim.

I've tried a bunch of butane lighters, but I always end up coming back to my trusty ol' Zippos. They just have a je ne sais quoi.

I've carried a variety of zippos over the last few years, lately i've been carrying a brass case one my wife gave me. good lighter, you just gotta love a zippo.

I have never been a fan of butane lighters so I will normally be found with one of these in my pocket...

left to right...first two are match safes belonging to my grand-father, Zippo in a sterling engraved case-Viet Nam era, my alma mater - TCU and yes...it plays the TCU fight song, 60's vintage Scripto, Zeppelin, A cheapy Zippo type but one I really like, another of Granddad's match safes, a small solid brass Zippo. I have others but these are the most carried.

Now if I am in a suit (very seldom these days) I will likely be carrying this Ronson gold filled case and lighter.

and last for trip fishing, canoeing, or pool parties I carry one of these, I have "lost" three already this years to friends and family...

Bics have been dead reliable for me - I just don't like that they're disposable.

I carry a slim matte black Zippo sometimes. The fuel does evaporate quickly because the lighter is so small, but think of it this way: would you leave the house with a dull knife? No reason to leave with an empty lighter, either.

I have one of those Old Boys in polished briar.

Awesome lighters, all the parts are replaceable and they last a long time.

I dont smoke or really edc a lighter but they do come in handy for boyscout events. When with the boyscouts i usually carry either a butane lighter or a trusty old zippo.

I carried a Zippo from 1973 till about two years ago. Yes they are great lighters and get my pipe lit in a wind.

But I finally switched t a plain Bic. Got tired of the Zippo running out at odd times, and if you try to top it off every morning, once in a while you get a good fluid burn on your leg if the thing gets warm in your pocket, and the fuel expands. I've come to love the toss away Bic. Lightweight, lasts about three or four months, can see the amount of fuel left. Can put a spare one or two in my emergency kit nad if left in the plastic wrapper will last for a couple of years.

I love Bic's.
