EDC lockup problem

I have a 154CM EDC framelock that doesn't want to engage on it's own. Seems like it doesn't have it's original spring and doesn't catch the blade enough to lock up without pushing the lockbar over manually. Anybody know a fix I could do myself.

Not sure if this is your problem, but after about a year or so my edc shows some wear and galling on the lock bar face and a little on the back of the blade where they slide against each other. It looks like little plow marks or gouges. They aren't very deep (a magnifying glass helps) but are rough and prevent the lock bar from sliding far enough over. I plan to try smoothing them down a tiny bit once I can lay my hands on a very fine polishing stone (I want to keep the surfaces flat, so I've avoided sandpaper). Hope this helps.

smegs, here goes. If you have drill bits, find the one that fits the slot in the handle. (where the blade goes into the handle) (i.e., if the slot is 1/4 in. use a 1/4 in. drill bit) With that done, place the drill bit in the handle slot at about 1/2 the length of the lock bar. **with the blade open, push the lock bar down just like it would travel when locking** You may have to try this several times to get the desired "spring" back in the lock bar. This usally works for me. *this is what I do when I don't want to take the knife apart. Any questions, just click my user name and shoot me an e-mail. Walter

Thanks. I'll take the blade out and give it a good look.

Thanks, I'll try your fix first.
