Just got my 154CM EDC a few day ago. I love the knife except for one thing. When I open the blade the locking bar moves over about half the thickness of the blade but the bade is loose and rattles if I shake the knife. If I then force the locking bar all the way over the lockup is fine. I am wondering if it is designed to work like this. Do they all require this second motion to get a tight lockup?

In a word no. I've had one for several months and have carried it almost every day without any lock trouble or blade play. I would try adjusting the tension at the pivot and if that didn't help I would contact the people at camillus. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

One of the Camillus people should notice this thread soon -- sometimes they're away for a couple of days....

thanks guys. I will try the blade tension screw but I dont think that is the problem. If I dont hear from one of the Camillus people in a few more days I will try to contact them. I think that I could disassemble the knife and bend the locking bar inward to solve this but Im worried that might mess something up. Like I said before it is a great little knife for the money, im just a little disappointed about the lockup.

mrg23,
Sorry its taken a few days to get back to you! We will be glad to adjust your knive for you. Basically, it sounds like your lock bar doesn't have enough "bend" in it. In other words, the lock bar doesn't have enough pressure on it, to move it far enough over on the lock surface to engage properly.

You are welcome to try this yourself, or send it in. Whichever you wnat do do, we want you to be happy with your knife. I would like to talk to you to ensure that this all works out, so if you would email me your phone number, I'll give you a call, night or day, on my nickel.

Thanks for being a customer!
