EDC neck carry recommendation

So I've been wondering what to get for a while, I really like carrying a neck knife under my shirt, I usually do this with my Mora when I'm fishing and at work. But the Mora and plastic sheath is just big and thick. I've been looking at the BK11, BK13, and BK14. There is also the Esee Izula, but I kind of want to stick to Beckers. What is your recommendation on a good neck knife to wear under your shirt as an EDC. I don't want something bulky or big, so I figured you guys would know best.

I don't know about neck carry, but i EDC my BK14 in my right front pocket, and i often forget it's there. So you shouldn't have a problem with it being bulky.

BK11 all the way!!

The BK11 is about the only knife I will actually neck carry... the short handle paired with a very capable blade just makes it an awesome package that can be comfortably carried around the neck under a shirt. It also can be easily adapted for belt or pocket carry. If you want a bit bigger handle go with the Bk14/24... If you want something really small and stainless go with the 13... I think the 11 is about the best "bang for your buck" necker in the lineup. However, I feel with the 14 handle you can get A LOT more leverage on the blade which is something that you are probably used to carrying a mora. I just do not feel the 14 is as comfortable as the 11 in a neck carry set up, although any of these blades are going to be considerably more comfortable than what you are currently "neckin" LOL. Also consider the handle scale options you can get with each blade. Once you add on scales they turn into totally different beasts even though they are perfectly capable bare or with paracord. The handles just make them a lot more comfortable. KA-BAR factory Micarta for the 11 at about 35-40 bucks, or KA-BAR factory Zytel for the 14 at 10-15 bucks. (There are other after market options available... I think 710 makes some awesome stuff for both knives.) HOPE THAT HELPS!

my bk14 or 11 is always either around my neck or in a pocket. i have lots of folders but i dont use them now i like the beckers better.

The BK 11, KA-BAR Johnson Piggyback and a Cold Steel Secret Edge are the Neckers I carry, not all at once mind you:D

The BK11 would be the one I would get if you're sticking to beckers. It has the most hand filling handle, for my hands at least.

The Izula 2 IMO is better though. I strongly suggest you take a long look at that one. There's a reason that the 14 exists. When the izula came out people preferred that handle to the 11. So the 14 was born. Then the Izula 2 came out because people realized that as good as the handle was on the izula/14, it was too short. The Izula 2 IMO is the perfected handle in that evolution. It's the smallest "full size" knife I've found. Meaning it's the only one of them that has a truly full grip. Unless you have ape hands then none of them will work. :D The Beckers have a slightly longer blade if that floats your boat but IMO the Izzy 2 blade geometry is better and when combined with the grip it's the clear winner. They're all good knives though. None will disappoint.

I vote BK-9.

Yes! Go bk9

I've actually thought about this myself.. would the Remora be any good? I personally carry a folder that I love (buck vantage pro) but the clip isn't exactly discreet which is no good in an office environment and therefore gets left home

The remora is actually very good. Although, there seems to be one knife (necker) that was made specifically to be worn around the neck. Something small(11), and discrete(11) that lays kind of flat against your chest when worn around your neck(er). Something where if you gut the paracord that comes in the box, with the BK-11, and run some beaded chain through it, you can actually hang your 11 right where you want it.

I think you should buy both the 11 and the 14 because you really have to hold them both in your hands to figure out which is best for you. half the people here will say the 11, the other half will say the 14. im on the 14 team. I couldn't stand the way the 11 felt in my hand. after you handle both of them, decide which one you like and sell the other (or trade it for something else) it's the only way to truly find out which is better for you.

I have the 11, 14, and now the 24 which are all in my EDC rotation, depending on what mood I'm in. I made kydex sheaths for mine. I have no issues with neck carry. I actually kinda forget it's there most of the time. Nobody notices either. Kinda funny when I pull a knife out from under my shirt and everybody's eyes go wide. "Where did that come from?!?!" is the usual response. They are all great choices for neck carry in my not so humble opinion. I'll post pictures in a bit. Gotta get everybody out to school first...

I have both the 11 and 14, and have carried both daily.
They are both great knives but I find myself carrying the 11 more often.
I have scales on both knives and necker feels great in the hand despite having a shorter handle.

I typically don't neck carry. I have a 14 and an 11. I carry the 14 on the belt or in a pocket. I love the 14 and will probably only leave it for a 24. Having said that, in all honesty, you should get the 11. It's specifically built for neck carry, hence the name, and it will NOT let you down. Like others have said, if you get the 11, spend the extra and get some scales for it or paracord wrap it and it will serve you well. If what I and ithers have said doesn't sway you then take this under advisement. Mr Becker neck carries his 11 with a paracord wrap. He loves his 11.

BK14, BK11 (with Kabar micarta) and the BK24

11,14, or 24. You can get custom kydex for them or stick with the stock sheath and have something much thinner and low profile than a mora. A cord wrapped handle is also pretty easy to do, providing grip without much in the way of bulk. (My personal preference would lean me towards the 14/24 for additional handle length/rounded bottom part as I already carry at least three other objects that can open a beer bottle. Plus that opener might dig into your chest a little if you aren't careful.) Good luck sir! Post pics when you make up your mind and get it in!

I rarely (if ever) get out without my 14 dangling. I feel naked without it even when I'm naked. (?)

I throw my bk11 or bk14 in my pocket and go, and don't even notice it all day. I'd say that either would be great for neck carry as well, even though I haven't tried it.
There are tons of kydex benders that could easily make a slim pancake sheath for it, but the stock sheath is pretty thin as it is.
Either way, I don't think you could go wrong with choosing either of them for neck carry.

As promised, pictures. These are my current neck EDC options. Just received the 24 and am in the process of making scales for my 14s. I made the kydex sheaths for them and did the micarta on the 11. Plan on micarta for the 24 and the 14 (not pictured). Just need time to get around to it.
